Issue playing Atmos content on SHIELD

This article discusses known issues and possible solutions when experiencing issues streaming Atmos on your SHIELD TV
 
APP ISSUES
 
NETFLIX
  • Dolby Atmos is only available on SHIELD 2019 models.  2017 and 2015 models will support surround sound in Dolby Digital + only
  • Netflix audio quality may be dynamically reduced depending on network bandwidth issues are detected
Disney+
  • Dolby Atmos is only available if your SHIELD is connected to a display that supports 4K and HDR10 or Dolby Vision
Prime Video
  • Dolby Atmos is only available if your SHIELD is connected to a display that supports 4K and HDR10 or Dolby Vision
  • Prime Video audio quality may be dynamically reduced depending on network bandwidth issues are detected
