We’re unveiling support for NVIDIA Freestyle in the latest version of the GeForce NOW app for PC/Mac, v2.0.21. Freestyle lets you personally customize a game’s appearance through the application of real-time post-processing filters. For example, you can add a retro war-themed filter for your favorite FPS, or enhance color and contrast to make a game look more photorealistic. Or maybe you’re color-blind and want to make a style that makes it easier to differentiate between colors and see key features.
You can even use night mode, which reduces the amount of blue light emitted, so you can get to sleep easier after a night of gaming.
All of Freestyle’s functions are easily applied through an in-game overlay, accessed by pressing CTRL-G on Windows or Cmd-G on macOS in supported titles. There are three styles available to customize your game’s experience, 15 available filters per style, and 38 different settings. With so many possible combinations, you can create a truly unique look for your gameplay with just a few clicks.
Here’s how to start using NVIDIA Freestyle to enhance and customize your gameplay:
1. Install the latest GeForce NOW App, v.2.0.21 for PC/Mac
2. Hit “CTRL-G on Windows or Cmd-G on macOS for the in-game overlay and click “Game filter”.
3. Press Game Filter to access the FreeStyle overlay.
With the Game Filter Freestyle overlay loaded, click on one of the style preview boxes to select a style and then click on the “+” icon to add a new filter to your game, and again to stack more filters. You can name and save these combinations in any of the three provided styles that are assigned per game, and can switch on/off each style using a keyboard shortcut, mid-game, without opening the overlay again. Keyboard shortcuts can be assigned through “Shortcut” on the Game filter Freestyle menu or press “Ctrl+G” and navigate to “Settings” > “Keyboard Shortcuts.”
With a full suite of powerful filters, you can customize your game to your liking.
