The Maximum Payload Size setting is by default configured for optimal performance with PCI Express devices. Increasing this setting may improve performance for high bandwidth PCI Express devices but will result in slower performance for low bandwidth PCI Express devices. Alternatively, decreasing this setting will improve performance with low bandwidth PCI Express devices but could affect higher bandwidth PCI Express devices. NVIDIA recommends leaving this setting at the default BIOS value (4096).
