DGX-1 Display Corrupted or Blank After GRUB Menu

Issue: When booting the DGX-1 and viewing the console output on a monitor connected to the VGA port or via the BMC Virtual Console when certain displays are connected to the VGA, the display becomes unreadable and the system may not continue booting after the BIOS POST and GRUB screens display. This issue occurs due to an incompatibility between the supported resolutions of the connected monitor, and the resolution the DGX-1 is able to use for the console output.

Workarounds: To work around this issue, physically disconnect the monitor from the VGA port of the DGX-1 and use the BMC Virtual Console instead. If that is not feasible, try a different monitor model or reduce the resolution of your monitor to 1024 x 768 or lower.

Monitors known to induce this issue include (but are not limited to):

Dell U2412M

Dell U2410
