Windows 8.1 upgrade may result in BSOD or error 0xC1900101 – 0x40017

This issue has been observed when updating a system to Microsoft Windows 8.1 with an older graphics driver installed.

To help avoid this issue, first ensure that you have the latest drivers installed BEFORE upgrading the OS.  You can upgrade to the latest NVIDIA graphics driver here:  NVIDIA Drivers
