Does StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty support NVIDIA 3D Vision Surround and NVIDIA Surround?

NVIDIA 3D Vision Surround and NVIDIA Surround (2D) modes work by taking three supported displays and combining them to create a custom screen resolution. For example, if you have three LCD monitors with native resolutions of 1680x1050, the resulting resolution will be 5040x1050.

As intended by Blizzard Entertainment, (makers of StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty) the game does not support an aspect ratio greater than a 16:10. As an example, here are some common resolutions for different aspect ratios:

Aspect Ratio

Resolution Examples

4:3

1024x768, 1280x1024, 1600x1200

16:9

1280x720, 1600x900, 1920x1080

16:10

1680x1050, 1920x1200, 2560x1600

For these reasons, 3D Vision Surround will not work since the resolutions in that mode will have an aspect ratio great than 16:10.

For NVIDIA Surround (2D) it may be possible to create a screen resolution that fits under the aspect ratios in portrait mode, which rotates the three displays 90 degrees. Blizzard does not official support NVIDIA Surround (2D) so users should experiment to confirm it works.
