When I access my Apple Bootcamp partition from within a virtualized environment inside of MacOSX, 3d software/games can not detect the features of my graphics card correctly.
When an operating system is run in a virtualized enviroment such as inside of VMWare's Fusion or Parallel's Desktop, the virualization software acts as a wrapper to the Windows applications. While you may still be able to launch 3d applications, since the software does not have direct access to the NVIDIA graphics card, the supported 3d features will be limited by the virtualization software. To get full acceleration and support of your NVIDIA graphics card (for example Windows games or advanced 3d applications), it is best to boot into native Windows mode through Apple's Bootcamp.
