Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Microsoft® has made available Windows Vista® Service Pack 1.

NVIDIA recommends that its customers always stay up to date with the latest service packs and hotfixes from Microsoft.

You can now manually download Windows Vista SP1 via Windows Update: Click the Start Menu, All Programs, and select Windows Update.

Why is SP1 important for GeForce customers? SP1 includes ALL of the hotfixes that NVIDIA has recommended for Vista over the past year: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30. Starting tomorrow, this link will point to SP1 instead of to these hotfixes. SP1 also includes a year's worth of more general improvements for Vista.

Do I need a new graphics driver for SP1? No. However, as usual NVIDIA recommends using the latest WHQL certified driver: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx.

Does SP1 offer any gaming performance improvements? As long as you previously had the hotfixes installed, there are no significant performance differences between SP1 and the group of hotfixes.
