After installing the NVIDIA drivers, each time a user logs into Microsoft Windows, an Installshield wizard prompt appears.  How do I remove this?

NVIDIA uses Macrovision's Installshield software to setup and install the necessary drivers on a users system.  If you are running 3rd party services in the background which monitor your computer usage, it may prevent an installation from completing resulting in errors.  To eliminate the startup problem, two registry entries need to be cleared from the Windows Registry

Please make sure to back up the Microsoft Windows Registry before editing!  For information on backing up and restoring your Windows registry, please consult Microsoft's Knowledge Base articles:

To remove the Installshield startup registry entries, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click Start/Run.
  2. Type 'regedit' and click OK.
  3. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
  4. Locate the following keys:
    • ISUSPM Startup
    • ISUSScheduler
  5. Delete them both.
  6. Close the registry.
