Can I change the location where recorded TV shows are saved in Windows MCE?

Yes, you can change the storage location for your recorded TV shows by doing the following.

1) Launch "Regedit" from Windows "Run" command line to run the Registry Editor.

2) Look for the following registry key and specify the new recording path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Service\Recording\RecordPath

3) Look for the following registry key and make sure you specify the same recording path as you input from step 2:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media C enter\Service\Recording\WatchedFolders

4) Reboot the system

Note: Edit the Registry at your own risk. Inappropriate changes to the Windows Registry can disable the operating system or cause MCE to malfunction! To safeguard against such an accident, we recommend that you back up your existing registry.
