PYTHONHOME Warnings When Rendering


If you get the following error message when trying to run the sample scenes included with the Gelato package:

 

$ ./run_me
Gelato(TM) 2.0 R4 linux (May  9 2006 22:35:31)
(c) Copyright 2003-2006 NVIDIA Corporation. All Rights Reserved.
Could not find platform independent libraries <prefix>
Could not find platform dependent libraries <exec_prefix>
Consider setting $PYTHONHOME to <prefix>[:<exec_prefix>]

 File "<string>", line 2, in ?
ImportError: No module named random
 File "<string>", line 1
   random = random.WichmannHill()
   ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

   ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
ERROR: Couldn't execute scene buffer
Abort

You have the wrong version of Python installed. Gelato requires Python 2.2. See the instructions in the Getting Started guide (in the Linux Notes section) for how to install without interfering with your currently installed Python version.
