SYMPTOMS:

You experience unexpected results if you try to use the infrared control cable to change a set-top box to channels that have equal consecutive digits. For example, if you try to change to channel 100, 44, or 225, the channel changes to channel 10, 4, or 22.

This issue occurs if the set-top box is not using the same timing setting as Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition 2005 is using. Some set-top boxes require a specific timing setting to change the channel. Windows Media Center Edition 2005 can use a fast, medium, or slow timing setting. Set-top boxes may have to have a different timing setting than fast, medium, or slow.
