I recorded TV shows with my DualTV MCE and would like to see and manage my videos using Apple's iTune software. How can I do it?

Apple's iTune software is embedded with a video player that lets you preview and manage your TV shows prior to transferring it to your iPOD.  To accomplish this, you will need additional software since iTune does not recognize the video recorded in MPEG-2 format as in the case of DualTV.  iTune can only play videos in MPEG-1, MPEG-4 and MOV formats.  To enable you to view video in these format, you'll need to convert it using an MPEG-2 transcoder which Apple provides as an add-on within QuickTime Pro.

Here are some general guidelines on what you need to do to get it to work:

Step 1: Download iTunes 6 or later from Apple's web site.

Step 2: Since iTune does not have an MPEG-2 transcoder, you will need to get QuickTime and the MPEG-2 add-on.

Step 3: DualTV saves the recorded TV shows in the following location; C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Documents\Recorded TV.  So you will need to import the videos from this location to your QuickTime to begin converting it from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4 or H.264 format.

Step 4: Once the video is in the format that iTune recognizes, you can manage them anyway you like.

Step 5: If you would like to see your shows using the video iPOD, you can now use iTune to sync your videos to your iPOD.
